Crosslake Fibre is an international network service provider that builds and operates subsea and terrestrial network infrastructure across North America and Europe, with a specific focus on data center-to-data center connectivity. Their partnership with Cogent has been developed over the past few years and reached a new level when Crosslake purchased a number of Optical Wavelength services on Cogent’s North American network in 2025.

Chief Commercial Officer Fergus Innes explained that when Crosslake sought to expand their North American footprint, they turned to Cogent to make it happen. Choosing optical waves as the connectivity solution was essential—not only for Crosslake's end-users but also for their own internal needs.

Cogent's ability to quickly provide Crosslake with critical technical details—including KMZs, latency measurements, and routing information—enabled them to clearly communicate their offerings to customers. All of this gave Crosslake confidence in Cogent's ability to deploy the technology successfully.

Another aspect of Cogent's business model that keeps Crosslake returning for additional services, including wavelengths, is the shift from a transactional relationship to a true partnership. Crosslake can now rely on Cogent to provide the wave capacity needed to grow their network in North America.
