Compensation: Competitive Salary Range $90,000-$110,000 per year.

Commission: Commissions are earned on each sale based on the MRC (monthly recurring charges) and the NRC (non-recurring charges).

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive new business development with a focus on large colocation deployments including cabinet groups, cage space, and wholesale floor space solutions.
  • Partner across the sales organization to support enterprise and wholesale client acquisition, design, and close of large-scale colocation deals.
  • Manage the full sales cycle: prospecting, discovery, solution design, proposal development, contract negotiation, and deal closure.
  • Develop tailored proposals and technical solutions that address client-specific IT infrastructure and operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with data center operations, network engineering, and provisioning teams to ensure solution feasibility and seamless implementation.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of Cogent’s data center facilities, power density offerings, cross-connect options, and on-net ecosystem connectivity.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with decision-makers, influencers, and IT leaders across enterprise and service provider markets.
  • Consistently achieve and exceed assigned sales quotas for colocation revenue targets.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline management and forecasting within CRM systems.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of proven success in colocation or data center infrastructure sales, with a track record of closing large, multi-rack, or wholesale floor deployments.
  • Strong understanding of colocation market dynamics, data center design, power and cooling requirements, and interconnection strategies.
  • Experience selling to enterprise CIOs, CTOs, infrastructure directors, and wholesale buyers.
  • Demonstrated success in complex, consultative sales cycles with high-value transactions.
  • Ability to craft solution-based proposals aligned to customer technical and business drivers.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Results-oriented, self-motivated, and able to thrive in a highly competitive sales environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with carrier data centers and interconnection ecosystems.
  • Experience working with global enterprises, hyperscalers, or large content providers.
  • Strong network of industry relationships in telecommunications and data center communities.
