Regional Account Manager

What you will be doing::
Prospecting and cold calling on customers in assigned territories to generate proposals to business executives of small, medium and large corporate accounts with the goal to meet and exceed established revenue objectives. Candidate will direct call on new customers and analyze client needs relative to Internet connectivity over our unique, in building, Fiber Optic infrastructure. Direct quota bearing responsibility on a monthly and quarterly basis is required.
What we are looking for::
Candidate must have proven experience in finding new business. The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 3-5 years of quantifiable, successful B2B direct telecommunications sales experience in a fast-paced, competitive data/telecommunications OR IT selling environment. A track record of success and recent experience in this environment is required. A College degree is preferred. Proficiency with PC based applications such as Word, Excel, and Siebel a plus.
Competitive compensation package includes uncapped commission structure and over-quota bonuses.

Customer Support Engineer
Location:
Corporate Headquarters, Washington D.C.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot unique/non-common routing problems.
- Maintain customer monitoring.
- Accept customer calls via phone queue
Requirements:
- Previous Customer Support experience required
- General working knowledge of BGP, IS-IS, Remedy and Netcool.
- Optical Networking a plus.
- General working knowledge of routers
- Working knowledge of Networking and CST operations
- Strong organizational and project management skills along with excellent written and verbal skills required.

Regional Account Manager III

The Regional Account Manager III position is a senior level sales position. The position requires prospecting and cold calling in North America to NetCentric customers, such as web hosting companies, universities, ISPs, video gaming companies, etc., with the goal to meet and exceed established revenue objectives. Candidate will direct call on new customers and analyze client needs relative to Internet connectivity over our unique, in building, Fiber Optic infrastructure. Direct quota bearing responsibility on a monthly and quarterly basis is required.

Optical Transport Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Design both US and European metro optical networks.
- Manage network augmentation and expansion projects.
- Maintain and update network facilities database and documentation.
- Work closely with IP Engineering to ensure the optical transport network supports Cogent's IP services.
- Provide Tier 3 support to the Network Operation Center and Field Engineering teams.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 4 years experience.
- BSEE is highly desirable.
- Excellent project management and documentation skills a must.
- Strong working knowledge of SONET and SDH.
- Experience working with CWDM and DWDM metro equipment.
- Strong working knowledge of Cisco and Nortel optical products.
- Knowledge of MapInfo is a plus.
- Must possess a Telco networking background.
Staff Accountant
Needed to compile & analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts. Maintain and reconcile all real estate and circuits payables accounting journals/ledgers and bank statements. NOC Engineer - 2nd Shift
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring and maintaining the Cogent DWDM/SONET network elements and IP networks through the use of management tools, in order to ensure that it is operated in accordance with the standard NOC procedures.
- Determind the cause of network issues and troubleshoot using industry standard methods. Initiate corrective action through provided tools.
- Resolve problems through escalation when appropriate.
- Participate in administrative duties.
- Interface with customers and vendors as required to maintain high network availability.
Qualifications:
- 2 or more years working in a NOC or ISP. Strong IP technical background, excellent oral and customer service communication skills and an ability to work in a team environment. Thorough understanding and experience with WAN protocols and circuits.
Required Skills:
- IP Networking knowledge including networking protocols (BGP, IGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS...), IP addressing, DNS and IP-VPNs is required.
- Experience troubleshooting Frame Relay, Sonet and OCx.
- Cisco hardware troubleshooting experience with Remedy, Netcool or other network/hardware.
- Monitoring software and ticketing system.
- Two years experience minimum on the management of Telecom Networks based on DWDM/SONET and IP.
- Availability to work on 2nd shift hours 4 days.
- Technical vocation, good team worker and capacity to work under pressure.

Responsibilities
Preparation of state and local tax returns including sales and use taxes and property taxes in the United States
Monitoring the Company’s tax compliance activities including communicating with Federal, state, & local authorities
Research, advise and opine on state and local sales and use tax compliance requirements
Coordination with outside consultants tax advisors
Assisting in the development and improvement of policies and procedures
Assist with documentation and compliance requirements associated with transfer pricing policies and procedures in the United States, Canada and Europe
Partner with and report to senior management on a periodic basis
Educational & Experience Requirements
3-5 years of state and local tax preparation experience
Experience in the telecommunications industry a plus
Undergraduate degree – finance, tax, business and/or accounting
